They need a ventilated area to protect workers against volatile organic compounds (VOCs). 

Eco-Solvent ink
A major benefit for EcoSolvent ink is the extended printhead life and limited need for ventilation systems or HAZMAT shipping. These environmentally friendly inks are able to print high-resolution, outdoor- durable billboards.

Water Based ink
Water Based Inks offer an advantage with their smudge-resistant formula when used with the proper-coated media. Whereas the dye-based ink is suitable for indoor graphics, the pigment-based variety is more fade resistant and has high light fastness even when exposed to sunlight. Although the receptor-coated substrates generally cost more, these environmentally friendly inks provide excellent value.

UV Curable ink
UV Curable Inks are ejected in liquid form though the printhead nozzle, and dry instantly when exposed to UV light. These inks are suitable for flatbed printers and the benefits are in the wide range of substrates available and longevity on outdoor media. Special attention to the process is essential as the light source has to be fine-tuned and the ink requires special handling.
